week 6

I think I really like JRR Tolkien his universes he creates but when it comes to actually reading them I'm kinda whatever on. I definitely enjoy the film's but something about the novels don't really grab me like I feel they should. I feel kinda bad about that but I think that just comes to taste with me.

I've been pretty interested in reading some if the translated Witcher novels because I think that writing is more up my alley. The writing is supposed to be dark like Tolkien. But less of the whole one person is meaningless your small spec on the Earth. Because I feel like the point of tokens work is too much the whole one crazy bad ass hero and the Witcher is a straight up badass. The catches people hate him because I think that he is like an abomination. Something to do with the lore I'm not a 100 percent sure.

week 14

This week we watched Idiocracy. I think this might be one of my favorite movies. I really like the whole what if I world really went to all hell. It reminds me of Black Mirror but with more of a humor slant. Where black mirror is more like serious and scary and there's a chance it this might actually happen.

Idiocracy that same idea and kind of puts a funny slant on it and then tossing a little bit of Mad Max. Mike Judge prolly one of my favorite writer. Silicon Valley, King of the Hill , and office space are both really good movies and shows. So I think he's definitely one of my favorite kind of movie film creators.

Week 16 In Class

2067
I think this is probably the essayist to sort of make assumptions for. I think buy then we'd have self driving cars and phone battery would hopefully last longer than a day. I think easily Houdini's procedural modeling will be more common i mean hell your already seeing it now but by 2027 I think everyone will be working in that program. VR will probably be used in about every field it's available for but I think AR will mostly like used common between normal people.

At this time it would be rad to have workstations that would be more portable like not having to be in front of a giant desktop PC and we'd be able to just work off these crazy laptops that can render whatever crazy junk you want. maybe but then we will not have to take off our shoes at airports.

I'm 72 years old... I have had a wife, two kids hopefully, moved back home to Texas or anywhere comfortable. I like to think by then I've had opened my own studio and shipped some really cool think. I'd really like to have my life's work be some sort of cool comic or game or movie. So people can be like oh that "Danny the creator of such and such wow." I think by they time I'm that old i'd like to have settled down and hopefully just live off what I've made and just keep doing something I love.

What would 72 year old tell me now? To chill out and don't stay up late stressing out about one class that you hate going to every noon after this class. To try and live in the moment more and stop stressing out about the future. I like to tell myself that everything works out and I'm a happy 70 year old. Also to eat better and run more and just be more confidence in yourself ya dork.

week 13

The Aquatic Uncle is a weird one to me. When reading this I was kind of imagined these people as maybe like frog like people and the uncle was like a tadpole that never evolved for what ever reason. I really didn't think much about this story until the ending. I think this is supposed to play off the whole racist uncle thing and the fact that you had us read that right after thanksgiving makes me think that was the point. That racist uncle thing is me trying to say that a holiday like thanksgiving is one where you have a family get together of sorts and then you gotta put up with that one asshole family member. That ether doesn't like you or no one likes him but you put up with him because he is family.

Anyway, I really don't understand the message this was trying to say. The guy got cuckolded by his racist uncle. Am I supposed to think that there relationship was never going to work out anyway because in the back of her head this lady had the same believes as the uncle. I don't know what to really say about this one.

week 12

So I have no idea where my response to the blood child story that we read, but to put it simply. I really loved this story to put it simply. Something about this crazy fiction other world almost horror stuff is my favorite. I think someone might of mention this in class but hell if anyone were to this story right I think it would be the black mirror folks. I just got this chilling feeling while reading this even though parts of it I did feel a bit mixed.

I just think the fact that we never see the monster or have any idea what it looks like pretty crazy. I just loved it and I try and get some friends to read but I haven't really pressed them about so I don't think they have.

week 11

Unfortunately for this week I didn't get a chance to read anything but I have seen both the original ghost in the shell and the movie you have on the thumb nail of the this weeks blog post paprika. I'll write about Ghost in the Shell the first one.

I was a bit confused why you had to show us Ghost in the Shell two rather that the original. the opening scene of the first film is so iconic to me and maybe that's because I just love it so much or maybe you we've trying to say some thing with that scene I don't quite remember anyway. I just feel like opening of major just kinda of being a badass gunning down all those thugs and so forth is so Sci Fi of the time. I just feel like opening of the first film is way more stronger than the second film.

As for Paprika it a really good film that I enjoyed. It was a bonding moment between friends that became life long and I have a lot of stong feelings for that film and the Neon Genesis Evangelion TV showand films.  Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone would be an interesting movie to add to the list if you are not already familiar with the series.

Week 5

I love Kiki's Delivery Service It's one of those movies my mom had sat me down to watch way way back when I was really younger. It was cool getting a chance to watch it in class since I haven't gotten a chance to watch it since then.
Witches are very interesting because they really show this fear of women and their sexuality and such. I was watching a documentary recently (after our class) and it was about that time during the women revolution and in the back of my head I was thinking about some of the stuff we were talking about in class.
